The Premier League favourites 2021/22

The defending champions enter the new 2021/22 Premier League season as the top favourites. Manchester City have largely the same squad at their disposal, and with Pep Guardiola they also have a well-known success coach.

After the English championship in 2020/21, the focus of the Skyblues is once again very much on the Champions League. By reaching the final against Chelsea for the first time, already existing longings were given new impetus.

Master bets on the upcoming Premier League champion can therefore also be worthwhile for other clubs. European Cup winner Chelsea is one of them, as is of course Liverpool FC, who were crowned champions the year before.

Manchester United have also strengthened their ranks. Will the Red Devils win their first English championship since 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson?

Whoateallthepies.tv have published are great guide surrounding the odds for this season’s Premier League winner.

Will Manchester City win the English title?

As usual, the favourites for the Premier League title are the defending champions Manchester City. The Citizens have been surprisingly quiet in the transfer market so far, only bringing in a substitute goalkeeper from the Championship in Scott Carson.

The fact that the City champions‘ odds are nevertheless very low has to do with the already existing quality of the team. Top stars like Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden are among the most valuable players in the league.

There are no less than four City professionals in the Premier League’s most valuable eleven by market value, more than from any other club. With the top class in every part of the team, we can think of few clubs that can seriously threaten City.

Worthwhile Premier League champions odds for Liverpool?

Premier League champions betting on Liverpool could be interesting. The Reds were champions as recently as 2020, but had many injury problems last season. With the return of Virgil van Dijk, the most important of them is over on time.

In central defence, however, the Klopp eleven made further additions. The signing of Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konaté shows that Liverpool are doing everything they can to avoid similar personnel problems.

After many ups and downs, Liverpool were happy to have reached Champions League qualification in the spring of 2021. Will consistency now return to Anfield Road? The squad definitely has the necessary quality.

Chelsea on the way to becoming the third power – or more?

The duo is followed by Chelsea – although the gap seems to be melting. After all, the Blues may start the Premier League as reigning Champions League winners for the second time in their history.

Three German internationals, who will also attack the English championship with Chelsea in 2021/22, have also helped: Antonio Rüdiger, Timo Werner and final goal scorer Kai Havertz.

But Werner and Havertz in particular still have more work to do to fully establish themselves in England’s Premier League. Many players are still being traded on the transfer market in London, especially former striker Romelu Lukaku. Whether or not this happens will also have a big impact on the championship fight.

Will there be a Premier League champion Manchester United?

Manchester United have been waiting for the English championship since 2013. Many coaches tried their hand at the mission, but none ever reached the level of the Ferguson era again. Will they now make the leap to the top under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

In the transfer market, everything was done at Old Trafford to make the Red Devils more competitive again in 2021/22. Jadon Sancho for the offensive and Raphael Varane for the defensive are two absolute top deals.

But especially in midfield, with the often listless Paul Pogba, there still seem to be gaps that remain open. Is this and a shaky goalkeeping situation enough to become Premier League champions?
